League: Nippon Professional Baseball
History: This team was founded in 1946, the first year of post-war Japanese baseball. The original name of the club was Gold Star. The team was purchased by the Daiei Film Co. in 1949 and changed its name to the Daiei Stars. When Japanese professional baseball split into two leagues in 1950, the Stars joined the Pacific League. The Tokyo-based team merged with the Takahashi Unions in 1957.
